Why Engineers Choose to work at CSIRO

The Brief

CSIRO Exploration & Mining recruitment discovered that many engineers were not applying for positions with the organisation. Research suggested that this was because some had an image of CSIRO that did not match the reality. A decision was taken to produce a short (one and a half minute) light-hearted video that could be lodged on YouTube and linked to from recruitment advertising. The intention was to have young engineers working for CSIRO explaining how and why they enjoyed their work.

The Results

The client advises that recruitment advertising generated more applications and the video was circulated throughout CSIRO as an exemplar of how to attract young,  enthusiastic engineers and researchers.
